Solution

Since 1004=100000000100^4 = 100000000, (100,1)(100, 1) is a desired pair. In fact, mm can be any positive integer up to 100100, and there is a unique positive integer nn such that m4+n=100000001m^4 + n = 100000001 for this particular mm. Hence the total number of pairs is 100100. The answer is (a).
