Solution

Sawa is 22 kilometres south and 22 kilometres west of SS. Her distance from SS, by the Pythagorean Theorem, is 22+22=8=22\sqrt{2^2 + 2^2} = \sqrt{8} = 2\sqrt{2} kilometres from SS. The answer is (B).
