  1. Two sections of a Math 3030 class take an exam. The maximum possible score is 2020 points. The average score of the 1010 students in the first section is 1515 points. The average score of the 2020 students in the second section is 1818 points. What is the overall average score of all 3030 students combined?

  2. Two solid iron right circular cylinders are each 44 cm high, and are of diameter 6060 cm and 2525 cm respectively. They are melted down and used to form a single larger right circular cylinder, still 44 cm high. What is the diameter in cm of the newly created larger cylinder?

  3. I have two six-sided dice: a white one and a red one. Suppose the white one is fair, but the red die is “loaded” such that rolling a “11” is twice as likely as rolling any other number. What is the probability that I roll a sum of “77” with these two dice?

  4. A rectangular pool table is placed on a grid and has corners at (0,0)(0,0), (5,0)(5,0), (0,3)(0,3), and (5,3)(5,3). There are pockets only in the four corners. A ball is hit from the corner at (0,0)(0,0) along the line y=xy = x. How many times does the ball bounce off a wall before entering a pocket?

  5. The four distinct digits 11, 33, 55 and 77 are used to form all possible 44-digit numbers with no repeated digits. What is the sum of all these possible 44-digit numbers?

  6. How many integers N≥10N \ge 10 have the property that removing the last digit of NN gives an integer strictly smaller than N11\dfrac{N}{11}?

  7. How many positive integers nn satisfy n2−15n=51−35⋅(2+(−1)n)? n^2 - 15n = 51 - 35\cdot\bigl(2 + (-1)^n\bigr)?

  8. For how many integers n≥1n \ge 1 do there exist real numbers aa, bb such that a+b=nanda2+b2=25? a + b = n \qquad\text{and}\qquad a^2 + b^2 = 25?

  9. In a square ABCDABCD with AB=1AB = 1, let MM be the midpoint of side ABAB and NN be a point on side DCDC such that DN=3 NCDN = 3\,NC. The segment ANAN intersects DMDM at PP, and the segment BNBN intersects CMCM at QQ.

  10. Find the number of pairs (a,b)(a,b) of integers with 1<a,b≤301 < a,b \le 30 such that log⁡ab\log_a b is an integer.

  11. What is the smallest positive real number kk so that the curves y=x2+10x+26y = x^2 + 10x + 26 and y=sin⁡(kx)y = \sin(kx) have at least one point in common? Here, xx and kxkx are in degrees.

  12. A triangular number is any integer of the form n(n+1)/2n(n+1)/2 where nn is a positive integer. The number of positive integers kk for which k+1k+1 is a perfect square and 2k+302k+30 is a triangular number is

  13. Find the number of pairs (n,C)(n,C) of positive integers such that C≤50C \le 50 and the expression n2+Cn^2 + C is a perfect square.

  14. Let bb and cc be real numbers, and define the polynomial P(x)=x2+bx+cP(x) = x^2 + bx + c. Suppose that P(P(2))=P(P(3))=0P(P(2)) = P(P(3)) = 0, and that P(2)≠P(3)P(2) \ne P(3). The value of P(1)P(1) satisfies

  15. Let SS be a set of five different positive integers. The set has a special property: for any non-empty subset of SS, the average of its elements is an integer. What is the smallest possible value for the largest integer in SS?

  16. PP is a point inside the triangle △ABC\triangle ABC. We know that ∠BAP=30∘\angle BAP = 30^\circ, ∠CAP=20∘\angle CAP = 20^\circ, and ∠ACP=50∘\angle ACP = 50^\circ and that the length of the segment APAP is equal to the length of the segment BCBC. Find the angle ∠BCP\angle BCP.
