Portia’s high school has 33 times as many students as Lara’s high school. The two high schools have a total of 26002600 students. How many students does Portia’s high school have?

Let xx be the number of students in Lara’s high school. Then Portia’s high school has 3x3x students. Therefore, 3x+x=2600x=650. \begin{aligned} 3x + x &= 2600 \\ x &= 650. \end{aligned} Then 3x=1950.3x = 1950. Thus, C is the correct answer.
