Answer choices

Show solution

Solution

Note that xx must be odd, and x=9−2y3x = 9 - \frac{2y}{3}. Since y≥0y \ge 0, x≤9x \le 9. Thus there are 55 pairs (x,y)=(9,0)(x, y) = (9, 0), (7,3)(7,3), (5,6)(5,6), (3,9)(3,9) and (1,12)(1,12). The answer is (B).
